Level 3 Certificate in British Sign Language
This qualification is designed to build upon the grammar and vocabulary learnt in Levels 1 and 2. Learners will be able to understand and use varied BSL in a range of work and social situations.
The course is delivered over 38 weeks and aims to give students intermediate BSL skills that can be used to pursue a job working with BSL users, or to join in with more in-depth conversations with the Deaf community.
Course Units
We follow the specifications set out by Signature - our awarding body.

LO1 - Presentation
Use receptive and productive skills to engage in varied social interactions.
LO2 - Conversation
Maintain fluency, grammatical accuracy and coherence in sustained contributions
containing varied language.
LO3 - Receptive
Understand sustained signed communication containing varied language.
Course Requirements
Students are required to have successfully completed the Level 2 Certificate in British Sign Language or demonstrate ability to Level 2 standard.

You may wish to undertake the assessments and gain the Signature Level 3 Certificate. An additional payment* will be required. This is paid to Signature and the cost is set by them each academic year. OxfordBSL do not take any percentage of assessment fees.
* Assessment fees are £171 for all 3 assessments. Under-18s (on the assessment date) get a 30% discount. Resits will incur an additional charge.
Payment can be spread over 3 installments without penalty. Your booking confirmation email will give you the choice between 1 payment and 3 payments - simply choose whichever suits you!
Course Assessments
There are three assessments against the Level 3 certificate, one for each unit, externally assessed by Signature.

Your teacher will give you plenty of time to practice these elements over the course!
